Wow I am out of the loop on this one. My wife and I share a blog where we communicate news to our friends and family back home, that's all it really is. A collection of "here's what we did today" or "here's the cutest thing our daughter's done". No specific topics, no specific areas of conversation. A simple Wordpress blog whipped up by someone with years of HTML and Photoshop experience.
At work the other day though, some co-workers leering over my shoulder commented on the title of my blog "Just Truly Being a Rainey" and as corny as the title may seem, my family likes it, it brings a sense of unity to our family that we never really had. The comments led to questions regarding topics of my blog, and I thought to myself, "I've been 'bloggin' since livejournal first debuted and I've never had a 'theme' for any blogs."
After my ephemeral trip into nostalgia I remembered my sacred Newsvine account, I thought about how much fun it is to actually get a voice across on topics and hearing a deluge of different, intelligent replies. After my allotted days off I come back into the office, sit at my chair and realized, my god, I have nothing I want to "blog" about. There's no pressing issues I care strongly about, there's no organizations I belong to (short of my mandated USAF association). I only have me.
Now before you start yelling to me "But your life is so interesting we wouldn't know where to start," believe me I caught that sarcasm in there, let me just say, this isn't a blog like any other blog I've had, I'm going to try to theme my column here, because after all, that's what it is, a column. Feel free to provide me suggestions, I may or may not listen, but for right now, I just feel like I'm going to be talking about the inhumane practices of office politics, how it is inside and outside of the military.
